The Women Democratic Front (WDF) condemns in the strongest words Israel’s blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and its continued campaign of aggression across the region. We demand an immediate end to Israeli occupation, militarism, and violence in Iran, Palestine, and elsewhere.
This latest act of aggression by Israel threatens to further destabilize not just the Middle East but the entire world. It is part of a long-standing pattern of imperialist and Zionist violence – enabled and emboldened by the United States and its allies, who continue to provide diplomatic, financial, and military support to Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people.
The attack on Iran is being justified by the same old narrative of defanging its nuclear arsenal. Ironically, it is coming from Israel, who owns massive nuclear weapons and the empire that thrives on militarised capitalism. We also want to remind people this is the same logic which was used to attack Iran by the US, taking the lives of hundreds and thousands of Iraqi people. From Palestine to Iraq, from Afghanistan to Libya, from Congo to Sudan, from Syria to Yemen, from the Philippines to Vietnam, from Chile to Iran – the living memories of people have been shaped by war, occupation, extraction, and displacement at the hands of imperialist powers. These are not isolated conflicts but have a long and connected history of an empire built on violence, militarised capitalism, and colonial domination.
WDF unequivocally condemns the imperialist-Zionist nexus which has orchestrated the destruction of sovereign countries across the Global South. We also denounce the complicity of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Qatar and Egypt, who facilitated the bombing of multiple countries. We also condemn the Muslim countries for their silence in the face of ongoing war and repression that renders them enablers of regional destabilization and imperialist designs.
In this critical moment, we stand in solidarity with the people of Iran and all those resisting imperialism, occupation, and war. We call on progressive, feminist, and leftist movements across the world to unite in internationalist solidarity to confront and dismantle the architecture of imperialist violence.
There can be no peace without justice, and no justice without resistance.
